CULT CANYON

CULT CANYON is the latest musical project from Josh Chicoine (the M’s, Cloudbirds) involving a revolving cast of friends and collaborators from Chicago’s ever-evolving music scene. “Smoke Tricks” is the first full-length release from Cult Canyon and is an expression of joy, sorrow, hope, longing, wonder, electricity, and bewilderment of our modern age, finding a place for oneself in it. While the form and melodies are comfortable, the musicianship and songwriting creates an exciting layered sonic world. Song craft is at the heart of the record and the players bring easy vibes alongside an eclectic pallet immersed in the sounds they grew up with from across the decades and musical spectrum.
